Comments from our guests and members

Members and guests attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring, and entertaining weekly meetings.

Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you please send us your comments?

March 21. Sea grass- what a remarkable discovery! The obvious solution to reducing the excessive CO2 in the atmosphere is to stop what we are doing to produce it. But it gives us hope when we see that nature is able to help us remedy the damage we have done.
April 6. A phone call. Wow!! I hope that young man on the other end of the phone somehow gets a chance to see this video. To have known that this woman just needed a listener, and to be willing to be that listener for as long as it takes - what a gift!
-- Vicki Horsfield, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

April 5. Wonderful story on the Haitian Mid-wives’ project.
-- Neil Rogers, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

April 6. Auburn Sanstrom: A phone call. It was a surprise to learn that the person she spoke to for so long was a wrong number. Heartwarming story of love, compassion, and listening from a stranger when she needed it the most. This one phone call helped her change her life completely around for the better.
-- Brenda Race, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

April 6. Speaker, Auburn's message was very moving. Another great meeting!
-- Sharon Blaker, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

April 10. Until I watched the video about Rotarians leading the fight to end malaria, I hadn't realised how many lives were lost every year due to malaria.
-- David Werrett, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

April 11 meeting. Very informative.
-- Nance MacLeod, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

Humour

New members' corner

“New members should be treated like new employees at a company. The [early] months [are] critical for both [the club and the new member,] as that is when a new member will feel the most engaged and excited about their decision to join the club. So engaging them to keep that feeling high will enhance the experience for that new member, as well as the club.

Like a new employee in a company, there should be an effort to make them feel welcome, training, socials to make new friends, etc. Too many times I have seen new members become disengaged early because they are left to themselves to figure it out.”

— Gina McBryan, Rotary Club of Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

Program Donations

Our E-Club is a dynamic club comprised of ordinary working and retired people who acknowledge that Rotarians are people who are generous with their time and their resources.

Our club and the program you have just enjoyed, either as a member or a visitor, is funded only by donations.

We are developing ideas for fundraising with our members who are scattered across Canada, USA, Central America, and Europe, but we do need your help.

As you have not had to buy lunch or travel to attend this program, please make a donation of a minimum of $10.00, considering you're saving in time and cost in appreciation for the experience you have enjoyed.
