March 5. Love the land acknowledgment video. Jan Arden is always a favourite.
-- Sharon Blaker, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370
How Biochar Removes CO2 from the Air – and helps farmers thrive. What I enjoyed was the fact I had no idea what Biochar is and what it does. It is a kind of charcoal that removes CO2 from the atmosphere, helping yield healthy crops and even producing abundant renewable energy in the form of electricity as it's made. This is especially valuable for farmers in areas that are starting to be affected by climate change and dependent on small crops to be able to feed their families. This is a very cool topic and to me how Mother Nature has provided ways in which we can solve some of problems if we choose to do so.
-- Michael Thomas, Rotary Club of Stony Plain, District 5370
March 12. We accept the dishwashing machine as a normal part of our life not knowing that it took the determination of a woman to invent it. Josephine Cochran was quite a remarkable woman inventing the dishwashing machine and manufacturing it and selling it at a time when women in the U.S. did not even have the right to vote.--
-- David Werrett, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370
March 15. Denmark's commitments to change are commendable but I don't understand why their goal date is 2050. Changes need to be made much sooner if we are to experience any recovery in the environment.
-- Vicki Horsfield, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370
March 20. The unexpected underwater plan fighting climate change. I enjoyed this meeting a lot.
- Doug Dyer, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370
