Dr. Francois Clemmons. I enjoyed the talk on literacy and shared the clip with an acting teacher friend.
-- Neil Rogers, Rotary Club of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia – District 7820
Mr. Rogers, the visionary for child education. Excellent!
-- Lynne Ternosky, Rotary Club of D6330 Passport
I love mathematics. Eddie loves teaching mathematics with enthusiasm. He admires the mathematical designs of nature. He is an example of what a difference a positive teacher can make.
-- Larry Reynolds, Rotary Club of Campbell River Luncheon, District 5020
September 8. Another delightful and informative meeting!
-- Sharon Blaker, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370
August 1 and September 10. Wonderful content!
-- Doug Dyer, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370
Very nice to hear about Dr. Francois Clemmons. Never realized the social impact of his character on Mr. Rogers.
-- Jim Kenyon, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370
September 12. Great items this week, and I really liked Jim Kenyon’s music choices. The priest singing Hallelujah at a wedding did a terrific job and it was obviously a great surprise to the bride and groom.
-- David Werrett, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370
September 12. The Inspirational Moment was priceless! I liked how a link was provided to the entire story about the Underground Railroad, and I thought, I will read that later. I was delighted to see the video, which I DID watch. Amazing history! It reminds me of the Mexicans trying to enter the U.S.
-- Elly Contreras, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370
The Beginning of the Underground Railroad in Canada. I did not realize or remember that Canada played a role in the abolishment of slavery in the South. Canada had several communities that were safe havens for slaves in North America which harbored a total of 30-40k slaves who were able to make their way across the border. This was possible by a Governor's effort to help pass a bill in parliament for the slow but ultimate abolishment. At that time there were many politicians who had slaves themselves. It is nice to see we did not have to go through a civil war to deal with the civil rights of another human because of the color of their skin.
-- Michael Thomas, Rotary Club of Stony Plain, District 5370

Every box of raisins is a tragic tale of grapes that could have been wine.
I finally stopped drinking for good. Now I just drink for evil.
They say we can have gatherings with up to eight people without issues. I don't even know eight people without issues.
Friend: "Look! Your husband is talking to another girl." Me: "Let him. I want to see how long he can suck in his stomach."
I have opened a can of worms. They just sit there, the worms. Hardly the chaos that's been advertised.
I think the proper name for older women should be "Queen-agers." That's it. Carry on.
I went line dancing last night. Well ... it was a roadside sobriety test ... same thing ...
Theme parks can snap a crystal-clear picture of you on a roller coaster going 70 mph, but bank cameras can't get a clear shot of a robber standing still.
Did you know that people who look after chickens are literally Chicken Tenders?
The fastest land mammal is not a cheetah ... it's a toddler who has just been asked "what's in your mouth?"
Dear paranoid people who check behind their shower curtains for murderers ... if you do find one, what's your plan?
The more I get to know people, the more I realize why Noah only let animals on the boat.
Facial recognition software can pick a person out of a crowd, but the vending machine at work can't recognize a dollar bill with a bent corner.
Research has shown that laughing for two minutes is just as healthy as a twenty-minute jog. So now I sit in the park and laugh at all the joggers.
When my wife is mad at me, I tighten all the jar lids, so she has to talk to me.
Covid-19 Fact: 87% of gym members don't even know their gym is closed.
Every day, thousands of innocent plants are killed by vegetarians. Help stop the violence - eat bacon.
I never make the same mistake twice. I do it like, five or six times, you know, to make sure.
Someone just honked to get me out of my parking space faster, so now I just have to sit here until both of us are dead.
My train of thought derailed. There were no survivors.
I know it's time to clean out my purse when my car assumes it's an extra passenger who isn't wearing a seat belt.
In the 1980s I fell off my bike and hurt my knee. I'm telling you this now because we didn't have social media then.
Some people seem to have aged like fine wine. I aged like milk ... I got sour and chunky.
I still have a full deck; I just shuffle and deal slower.
Crafter’s philosophy ... why pay $7 for it when you can make it with $92 of craft supplies?
Each year, Rotary International highlights November as Rotary Foundation Month to emphasize the importance of and need for Rotarian support of The Rotary Foundation.
Contributions from Rotarians around the world go to the Foundation's Annual Programs Fund, which provides grants and awards through Foundation programs; and the Permanent Fund, an endowment from which only the earnings are spent in support of Foundation programs, ensuring the long-term viability of the Foundation.
Annual Fund – Your gift to the Annual Fund helps Rotary clubs take action today to create positive change in communities at home and around the world. Your contributions help us strengthen peace efforts, provide clean water and sanitation, support education, grow local economies, save mothers and children, protect the environment and fight disease.
The Every Rotarian Every Year initiative asks every Rotarian to support The Rotary Foundation every year. In addition to contributing to the Annual Fund on a regular basis, members are encouraged to get involved in a Foundation project or program.
Permanent Fund - Rotarians are invited to give a gift that will go beyond your lifetime - a donation to The Rotary Foundation's endowment, the Permanent Fund. This fund enables individuals to combine their gifts into a significant force to address the world's greatest needs for generations to come.
In a Rotary year, about $8 million from the Permanent Fund is made available to support Foundation programs. The Permanent Fund is an endowment, and the funds are managed very differently from the Annual Programs Fund.
