President's Corner
* Sergeant At Arms - Jim Kenyon was appointed to this position for 2020-21. Congrats Jim!
* Annual Audit - Past President David Werrett has accepted a request to do the annual audit of RECCO finances for 2019-20. The motion was approved by the BOD.
* Donations to Rotary Foundation - Elly Contreras (Foundation Chair) presented an in-depth report which indicated that RECCO members are strong supporters and regular contributors to the Foundation. Way to go RECCO!!!!
* New Membership Initiative - The BOD fully supported a motion to establish an E-Satellite Club for young professionals as proposed by the RECCO Membership Committee. Sharon Blaker (Membership Chair) advised that the Committee will be meeting at the end of the month to discuss the new club format. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting new adventure!
* Strategic Planning Session – the BOD has engaged PDG Betty Screpnek to facilitate this session. RECCO members have been asked to complete a SWOT analysis in preparation for the discussions. This is your chance to help RECCO establish achievable goals for the 2020-21 Rotary year.
* Project Fair – Tammy attended Bryce Lambert’s Studio (Kiwi Productions) recently to record a greeting for the RECCO booth at Vision 2020’s virtual Project Fair on 2020-09-12. Check out the Project Fair booths online at https://www.vision2020rotary5370conference.ca/
Don’t forget to register for District 5370’s annual conference “Vision 2020” (use link above). RECCO is a primary sponsor of this virtual event with awesome guest speakers and a Project Fair. The best part is that it’s FREE!

I had to
opportunity to learn what the Ubuntu Philosophy is that was presented by Shola
Richards. It is the power of human
connectedness, kindness, and compassion.
-- Michael Thomas,
Rotary Club of Stony Plain, District 5370
Ubuntu. The One Word to Change How You Work, Live,
and Lead. Impressive ways to increase
members’ contribution and involvement in preparing content.
-- Nirav Trivedi,
Past Rotarian, Surat, District 3060 (India)
July 12. Great message from our new DG Jim Ferguson
introducing RI President Holger Knaack's theme of Rotary Opens Opportunities.
When I look back on my 27 years in Rotary, I can certainly agree with the RI
President's theme.

About the 1955 Polio Epidemic in the U.S.
Food for thought
"Africa is
like a sleeping giant," says journalist and satirist Adeola Fayehun at the
beginning of this hilarious, incisive talk. "The truth is I am trying to
wake up this giant. That's why I air the dirty laundry of those in
charge." Follow along as she roasts corrupt African officials and shows
why the continent already has all it needs to take its rightful place on the
world stage -- if only leaders would start taking responsibility.

For a small donation, your favorite musician will be featured on one of our next e-meetings for everyone to enjoy.
Every week we'll have a draw and the lucky person will see their song featured!

Four-way Test
To close the meeting, Rotarian Keith Evans, our President-elect, recites the Four-Way Test of the things that Rotarians think, say, or do.

Program Donations
Our E-Club is a dynamic club comprised of ordinary working and retired people who acknowledge that Rotarians are people who are generous with their time and their resources.
Our club and the program you have just enjoyed, either as a member or a visitor, is funded only by donations.
We are developing ideas for fundraising with our members who are scattered across Canada, USA, Central America, and Europe, but we do need your help.
As you have not had to buy lunch or travel to attend this program, please make a donation of a minimum of $10.00, considering you're saving in time and cost in appreciation for the experience you have enjoyed.
