WORLD WATER DAY
March 22, 2019

What is World Water Day?
World Water is fast approaching!

Your club and district can help celebrate World Water Day. It focuses on the approximately 1.8 billion people worldwide who must rely on water contaminated with feces, putting them at risk of contracting cholera, dysentery, typhoid, polio and other waterborne diseases.

The UN's Sustainable Development Goals, launched in 2015, include a target to ensure everyone has access to safe water by 2030, making water a key issue in the fight to eradicate extreme poverty.

In 1993, the UN General Assembly designated March 22nd as World Water Day.  It is now a globally recognized event.

Comments from our guests and members

Members and guests attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring and entertaining weekly meetings.

Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you please send us your comments?

Interesting TED talk by AJ Jacobs to thank everyone involved in making his morning coffee available. And the realization as to how much we all rely on humanity as a whole to assist in our daily lives.
-- David Werrett, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

Enjoyed the Change for a Dollar inspirational message. It is truly an example of how small funds and insightful thoughtfulness enables many to move forward in big steps in their lives.
-- Lynne Ternosky, Passport Club, D-6330

My daughter works in the field of autism, and this Silberman's synopsis of the history of the condition and its diagnosis was much appreciated.
-- Bruce Kleeberger, Rotary E-Club of Canada One, D-5370

I enjoyed seeing the interview of Malala, the young woman who showed her bravery to defy the Taliban by attending school.
-- Steve Sandlin, RC of Decatur Daybreak, D-6860

Program Donations

Our E-Club is a dynamic club comprised of ordinary working and retired people who acknowledge that Rotarians are people who are generous with their time and their resources.

Our club and the program you have just enjoyed, either as a member or a visitor, is funded only by donations.

We are developing ideas for fundraising with our members who are scattered across Canada, USA, Central America, and Europe, but we do need your help.

As you have not had to buy lunch or travel to attend this program, please make a donation of a minimum of $10.00, considering you're saving in time and cost in appreciation for the experience you have enjoyed.
