Comments from our guests and members

Members and guests attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring, and entertaining weekly meetings.

Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you please send us your comments?

November 27. The Canadiana video about the street that splits the U.S./Canada border is quite a surprise to visitors. I had difficulty believing we were driving down a street with U.S. houses on one side and Canadian ones the other, and then you come to the end of the street and there is a U.S. customs office on one corner and the Canadian one on the other.
The Haskell library in Stanstead is equally amazing as the border runs diagonally though the library with a piece of tape on the floor demarking the border. It also has two addresses, a Canadian one and a U.S. address and, as mentioned, Canadians have to enter by walking into the United States.

Hi Kitty, I liked your Canadian piece in last week's meeting. It is quite intriguing that the U.S. has such tightly guarded borders and yet in Stanstead you can cross the street and be in the U.S. We were told that we could "just walk along the sidewalk" to get into the library when we spoke to a cashier in a store. We had our doubts so we went to the Canadian Customs office in the next street from the library and asked and were told "yes you can walk around, just don't step of the sidewalk".
I took the attached photo of my wife Sharon straddling the tape on the floor of the library, you can just see the U.S. and Canadian flag in the background.

I also took a photo upstairs in the theatre of Sharon in one of the seats and the Tape goes diagonally underneath the chair. That one didn't come out very good though - the camera didn't like the theatre lighting.

November 28. Another great meeting!

November 29. Awesome meeting as usual.
