Comments from our guests and members

Members and guests attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring, and entertaining weekly meetings.

Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you please send us your comments?

November 14. I had forgotten the story of the D-Day Dodgers, and how the troops got back at Lady Astor's slur by singing the song "D-Day Dodgers."
-- David Werrett, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

November 16. The Care Package – lovely story!
-- Vicki Horsfield, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

Leonard Lee Smith. Leonard recounts his biggest ally being his grandmother. His mother would keep putting him on a diet when a child. At one point, his grandmother sent a large box the size of the trunk of a car with gifts and numerous packages of homemade sweets. He still celebrates her memory by hanging her wreath on his door.
-- Michael Thomas, Rotary Club of Stony Plain, District 5370

Leonard Lee Smith. It was a delight. He is an amazing storyteller. Grandmother’s special Christmas care package made all the difference helping the author cope with his troubles to adapt to the new life. Love is very powerful and little things can mean a lot. I enjoyed the talk.
-- Armand Kambou, Silicon Valley Rotary E-Club, District 5170

The goal in the next three months is for 75 per cent of Rotary clubs to view the video below, produced by TGIG and Lamorinda Sunrise Rotary.

The video is a result of discussions and ideas that emerged from the Pandemic Response Task Force.

Your help in advocating for and distributing this video are appreciated. The link is below. No need to watch the video right now - but please make note and save it for future viewing.

Rotary minute

In 1994, Julia’s mother Mirjam, at age 16, came from the Netherlands to Canada as an exchange student with Rotary International. Mirjam’s host families were in Mildmay, Ontario, a small town of a little more than 1,000 people.

Mirjam left the Netherlands a shy girl. When she returned home from Canada, she was a confident young woman who knew what she wanted to do in her life.

Program Donations

Our E-Club is a dynamic club comprised of ordinary working and retired people who acknowledge that Rotarians are people who are generous with their time and their resources.

Our club and the program you have just enjoyed, either as a member or a visitor, is funded only by donations.

We are developing ideas for fundraising with our members who are scattered across Canada, USA, Central America, and Europe, but we do need your help.

As you have not had to buy lunch or travel to attend this program, please make a donation of a minimum of $10.00, considering you're saving in time and cost in appreciation for the experience you have enjoyed.
