Submission from our E-Club Member
Sharon Blaker

Dear fellow Rotarians

I have attached a couple of photos of my crocheting – one of a granny square blanket and another showing my cotton dishcloths and scarves.

I have $340 which I will be donating to Project Amigo from sales of
the dishcloths, scarves and the custom order blanket.  I do not keep any money that I receive – 100% goes to non-profit organizations and international projects, usually with a literacy component.

I am also taking over 35 scarves (and some baby hats) to Nepal at the end of October.  I am joining other Rotarians fro the Rotary Club of Chilliwack-Mt. Cheam.  They are visiting a school that they helped fund working with an organization called Himalayan Life.  I will not be travelling up to the school.  It is a strenuous 7 hour 4x4 trip on a very rough road and my back won’t take the trip.  However, my scarves will!

Also, we are going to check out other possible projects and partnerships with the organization and local Rotary clubs.  I may bring some ideas back to our International Service Committee for consideration.

Our E-Club is a dynamic club comprised of ordinary working and retired people who acknowledge that Rotarians are people who are generous with their time and their resources.

Our club and the program you have just enjoyed, either as a member or a visitor, is funded only by donations.

We are developing ideas for fundraising with our members who are scattered across Canada, USA, Central America, and Europe, but we do need your help.

As you have not had to buy lunch or travel to attend this program, please make a donation of a minimum of $10.00, considering you're saving in time and cost in appreciation for the experience you have enjoyed.
