A wedding photoshoot in Canada took an unexpectedly dramatic turn as the bridegroom leapt into a lake to save a little boy from drowning.
Clayton and Brittany Cook were posing for wedding photos on a park bridge in Kitchener, Ontario, when the groom noticed a boy in distress in the water.
With no thought for his suit, Mr Cook jumped into Victoria Park lake and pulled the young boy on to the shore.
Their wedding photographer captured the rescue.
The images have since gone viral.
"For several minutes these kids were following us, and I was just keeping an eye on them because they were standing close to the water," Clayton told the BBC.
"Then while Brittany was getting her solo shots taken I realised only two were standing on the rock ledge.
"I saw the boy in the water struggling to keep his head up. That's when I jumped down.
"I just kind of plucked him out and he was okay."
Clayton's wife said she originally thought he had jumped in the water as a joke.
"We'd like to think most people would probably make the same choice," she said.
"As soon as I could turn around he had already plunked him on the ground outside the river," wedding photographer Darren Hatt told the BBC. "So I just kept on capturing the story of the day, including this."
After being rescued, the boy appeared fine, if a little shaken, and went off with an older sibling.
Mrs. Cook said her husband's quick thinking and selfless action were just some of the reasons she fell in love with him in the first place.
"That's Clay to me," she told CTV. "It's something he would just instinctively do."
And it seems this story was in September of 2017 – better late than never!
Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you please send us your comments?
Heroes Fighting Malnutrition.
I enjoyed the Humor sections. The TED Talk on fighting malnutrition described the importance of sustainable animal husbandry practices and bridging the gap between traditional and modern practices. It was interesting that a life-long vegetarian was talking about the importance of milk and meat in fighting malnutrition and its effects.

June 3, Fighting Malnutrition.
I hadn't been aware of stunting as an issue, and am pleased to see that Shruthi is researching and promoting solutions.
-- Todd Colbourne, Rotary Club of Kingston, District 7040
Three Mysteries of the Universe – New Forces.
I had no idea that the universe is still expanding, and @ a rapid rate. Dark matter was discussed in a helpful manner- scary problem it seems to me.
-- Velma Noble, Rotary Club of Heritage Park, District 5360
June 12. Great content today. The Rotary minute was entertaining and the video about the Newfs (Newfoundland dogs) as we used to call them was great. They're not often thought of as a water dog but can outperform Labradors and Chesepeake Bay retrievers in the water.
-- Patrick Gibson, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370
June 13.
The TED talk about the unsung heroes fighting nutrition Africa is quite a remarkable story of how pastoralists are changing the nutrition of the local people.

Colleen Knull, a volunteer firefighter at the Enderby Fire Department, was working a summer job at the Jasper Lodge in the park. She has less than one year of experience as a firefighter, and was off duty on that July 22 night, but that didn't stop her from taking charge of a dangerous situation.
"My first indication that there was a fire was we had noticed smoke coming up from the mountainside, and during my previous training in wildfire, I used some of the knowledge that I obtained from that and applied it to read the smoke, wind directions and how close it was," she said.
She got an alert of the fire texted to her by a family friend, and about 15 minutes later, an evacuation order was issued for Jasper National Park.
After receiving the order to evacuate, Knull started knocking on cabin doors, waking up the guests at the lodge.
"Then I was notified that there was a hiker campground just above us and they had no way of knowing that we needed to evacuate," she said. "So I walked five minutes up the trail and then proceeded to evacuate everybody out of that area and bring them down into the rest of the group."
From there, she led a total of 16 people on a four-hour hike through difficult terrain, to where her truck was parked.
According to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), tourism is a significant economic contributor for many countries, often ranking within the top five contributors to their GDP. However, the exact number can fluctuate based on changes in economic conditions, tourism trends, and how the data is measured.
As of recent data, it is accurate to say that a substantial number of countries rely heavily on tourism as a major economic sector, with approximately 80 countries fitting this description.
