However, after 2 minutes, a boy comes running at her, holding her purse in his hands. "Is this yours, lady?" he cries at her.
"Yes it is!" she cried in joy. She was so happy she hugged the boy and opened the purse to see everything was there.
Looking in her purse, she commented, “Hmm, that’s funny. When I lost my bag there was a $20 note in it. Now there are 20 $1 coins.”
The boy replied, “Well, the last time I found a lady’s purse, she didn’t have any change for a reward.”
The Rotary four-way test is a well-known ethical guide for Rotarians around the world, and it consists of four questions that are used to promote integrity and ethical behavior. The four-way test asks the following questions:
1. Is it the truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
The Four-way test is used by Rotarians as a framework for decision-making and is considered an essential part of the Rotary Code of Conduct.
Rotary International has a Code of Conduct that outlines the organization's ethical standards and expectations for its members.
The Rotary Code of Conduct consists of the following elements:
1. Service: Rotarians are committed to providing service to others, promoting high ethical standards in their professional and personal lives, and working to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace.
2. Fairness: Rotarians treat all people with fairness, respect, and dignity, regardless of their race, gender, religion, or nationality.
3. Honesty: Rotarians are honest in their dealings with others and conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the organization.
4. Openness: Rotarians are open to new ideas and diverse perspectives, and they are willing to work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals.
5. Responsibility: Rotarians take responsibility for their actions and are accountable to others for their behaviour.
6. Respect for the law: Rotarians respect and obey the laws of their country and work to promote respect for the law in their communities.
The Rotary Code of Conduct is an important guide for Rotarians around the world, and it is intended to inspire ethical behavior, promote integrity, and reinforce the organization's commitment to making a positive impact in the world.
Every week we'll have a draw and the lucky person will see their song featured!
