Comments from our guests and members

Members and guests attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring, and entertaining weekly meetings.

Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you please send us your comments?

The video of the Exxon Valdez disaster was very interesting. In 2009 we took a tour of Alaska and the Yukon and camped in Valdez for a few days. One day we took a tour out to Prince William Sound.

As we travelled down the fjord, I was able to spend some time with the Captain, and he showed me on the chart the course that the Exxon Valdez had taken. As a result of the disaster, there is now a floating pilot station near the mouth of the inlet and every ship must now take on a pilot before going up the fjord and after loading they are required to take on a pilot to navigate back to Prince William Sound.

The attached photo is of the floating pilot station that I referred to.

The talk about sitting and our spines was also very good.
-- David Werrett, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

Jody Sanislaw. Sugar is not a treat. Jody’s reminder about the negative impacts of sugars and highly processed foods on our quality of life was very well done. Even though I follow foods I eat due to Type 2 Diabetes, she revealed to me some ideas I had not taken into account. Thank you to the E-Club for educating us about impacts these foods have on our health and daily moods and energy flows.
-- Lynne Ternosky, Rotary Club of D6330 Passport

February 21. Loved all of the videos, especially the one from Mother Nature.
-- Nance MacLeod, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

February 21. Sugar is poison. One of my big mantras here in Guatemala where diabetes is rampant and Pepsi with every meal is not uncommon!!
-- Vicki Horsfield, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

It Couldn’t be Done

Somebody said that it couldn't be done,
But, he with a chuckle replied
That "maybe it couldn't," but he would be one
Who wouldn't say so till he'd tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.

Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that;
At least no one has done it";
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing we knew he'd begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle it in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That "couldn't be done," and you'll do it.

Our club and the program you have just enjoyed, either as a member or a visitor, is funded only by donations.

We are developing ideas for fundraising with our members who are scattered across Canada, USA, Central America, and Europe, but we do need your help.

As you have not had to buy lunch or travel to attend this program, please make a donation of a minimum of $10.00, considering you're saving in time and cost in appreciation for the experience you have enjoyed.
