A truly remarkable feat for any pilot. Why is Bob Pearson's name not known far and wide in Canada like "Sully" in the U.S.?

Comments from our guests and members

Members and guests attending our weekly meetings are very important to us. Based on your comments we are able to produce many more educational, inspiring, and entertaining weekly meetings.

Following are some of the comments we have received. Would you please send us your comments?

How memory works. Fascinating presentation about how memory works. Many questions were answered following the presentation that were helpful.
-- Lynne Ternosky, Rotary Club of D6330 Passport

May 24. Phew!! What a relief to know all those forgetful moments are no big deal. What a minute - what's my name?
-- Vicki Horsfield, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

May 31. Great speaker, but I don’t remember what it was about!
-- Doug Dyer, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

Glad to know that memory is “far from perfect” and it’s okay to forget!
-- Sharon Blaker, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

Fellowship event. Great job, Tammy, on the Fellowship Assembly. One new member’s induction! Welcome to Ethan, and lots of discussion about the positives that came out of COVID this past year.
-- Elly Contreras, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

May 29. Thank you very much for the TED talk by Lisa Genova on How your memory works and why forgetting is totally okay. Very reassuring at my age! And congratulations to Doug and Johanne on being among the first to walk across the Arouca Bridge. But at 516 metres long and 175 metres high, I can’t think of anything that would incentivize me to take that walk!
-- David Werrett, E-Club of Canada One, District 5370

New members' corner

Through the years, Rotary has carried out thousands of projects to protect the environment. In just the last five years, we’ve allocated $18 million to projects that help our planet. Members have even more opportunities to focus on issues that are important to them, now that the environment is one of the causes we focus on.

Here are ways Rotary members are already supporting the environment.

Recycling
Solar lights
Water diversion
Water conservation
Sustainable farming
Eco Stoves
Clean energy

Program Donations

Our E-Club is a dynamic club comprised of ordinary working and retired people who acknowledge that Rotarians are people who are generous with their time and their resources.

Our club and the program you have just enjoyed, either as a member or a visitor, is funded only by donations.

We are developing ideas for fundraising with our members who are scattered across Canada, USA, Central America, and Europe, but we do need your help.

As you have not had to buy lunch or travel to attend this program, please make a donation of a minimum of $10.00, considering you're saving in time and cost in appreciation for the experience you have enjoyed.
